4/7/2024 0 Comments Setup exe won t run![]() The bogus-installation routine didn't come up when I was just opening the project in the IDE. I re-registered it using REGSVR32 but that didn't solve it either.įinally, it dawned on me that maybe UNREGISTERING it and then re-registering it might solve the problem. I got fresh copies of the MSCOMCT2.OCX program and replaced mine, but that didn't solve it. Actually, it wasn't the file itself, but something about how it was registered (or something about how that TI program changed how it was registered, and didn't completely clean up after itself upon removal). In my case, I finally figured out that it was the MSCOMCT2.OCX file that was causing all the problems. It only happened while I was in the IDE, and not always. My first clue was that it didn't happen in the compiled EXE. When I uninstalled it from my Windows machine, I started having a problem quite similar to what you're outlining.Īfter some degree of messing around with it, I finally figured out that some installation procedure was somehow attached to one of my ActiveX (OCX) controls. Mine was with a little program installed for the TI-83 calculator. I did have a similar problem and finally did manage to work it out. ![]()
